Welcome to my page! I'm Mrs. Bonnie Accardo.
I teach art at Most Blessed Sacrament.

I use this web page for sharing information about my classes and their artwork. My home page may rarely change, but
please check the student art gallery page. I like to update artwork that the students do after each 9 weeks.

At the end of the 9 weeks, they are sent home
with all of their work.

                                                      February 2019
Each K-5 class meets only once a week, during enrichment time. That means sometimes we will be working on a lesson for a couple of weeks. I have plenty of art projects planned, as well as worksheets for learning key ingredients of art while practicing our artistic skills. I also use technology in the classroom with fun art games and videos for learning about our art topics.

Kindergarten- Second Grades- Students will be learning about some elements of art such as color, shapes, forms, lines, and texture this year. Students will be learning scissor, glue, coloring and painting skills. They will be graded on participation, effort, following directions, and behavior. Grades consist of S-Satisfactory, N- Needs Improvement, and U- Unsatisfactory.

Third- Fifth Grades - Students will be learning about the elements of art, as well as practicing a variety of techniques and skills in art. Students will be graded on participation, effort, following directions, and behavior. They will also receive additional grades for the art projects that we will be doing in class. Art will not be graded on artistic talent, I encourage everyone to do their best! It will follow the same grading guidelines as conduct does.

K-5 Grades  - Students will all follow the Enrichment Discipline Plan. They will
follow Enrichment Classroom Rules and those Rules Specific to the Art Room.

Middle School Art Elective -
This Middle School Art course will focus on the production of 2 and 3 dimensional art. A concentration on the elements of art and principles of design, incorporated with art history, will be integrated into various art projects throughout the course. Basic design, drawing, painting, and sculpture techniques will be explored and learned. Students will also be exposed to a variety of artists, art materials, and techniques. By the end of this course, students should gain a better understanding for color theory, value and shading, the painting process, and beginner sculptural techniques. Students will follow discipline plan and classroom rules.
